Bound to Me Read online

Kat was happily watching Jack being interrogated by Ruth. He wasn’t squirming as much as she would have liked, but Ruth needed to be sidetracked and quick. Ruth saw husband potential in every man Kat encountered. Looking again at Jack, she knew exactly what Ruth saw. Dark hair that any woman with even the memory of an ovary would want to run her fingers through. Eyes a deep golden amber and a rugged jawline that she imagined looked even better with a bit of sexy man stubble. Yep, total mate material. Her godmother’s inner matchmaker was probably doing the Macarena right about now. So as enjoyable as it was to see a guy squirm, she needed to put a stop to this line of questioning, stat. “Ruth, it’s extremely late and Mr. Kincaid, I’m sure, was on his way home before he stopped and helped me. How about we let him continue on his way?”

Kat didn’t like the gleam in Ruth’s eyes one little bit. “Of course you’re right, Kat, its well past the witching hour, we’ll have to continue this another time. How about you stop by for brunch tomorrow? Then you can tell us both how you came to be part of our little community. I make a delightful mimosa.”

Katherine looked from Ruth to Jack, only to find him staring at her intently. “Kat, it suits you. Short for Katherine?” Kat nodded mutely.

“Katherine Jean Robertson, don’t you dare tell me this nice young man helped you and you didn’t even exchange courtesies? Not even to give him your name? Oh my word, Jack, what must you think of her manners? Then you must come over tomorrow so that I can make up for this child’s lack of social graces.” Ruth stood and started muttering about manners and polite society all the way into the kitchen. Kat had the good grace to blush at being dressed down in front of a practical stranger but refused to break eye contact. She was tired of him bossing her, and winning every argument.

Jack was delighted at the delicate flush that rose up to engulf the little Kat sitting across from him. He deliberately broke eye contact and let his eyes wander down to the buttons of her serviceable white shirt. Looking back up, he saw her color had deepened and she was no longer looking at him, but making to get up from the chair and follow her relative who was still pontificating about the lack of manners in polite society. Jack leaned over and wrapped a hand around her wrist. Time to test the waters. “Don’t run away, little Kat, I’m not going to bite you… hard.” Jack was pleased to see the threat had its intended effect when her nipples puckered nicely in the little lacy bra she had on under her thin blouse.

“I’m not running. I’m going to soothe her ruffled feathers, thanks to you.”

She tugged and Jack couldn’t help himself. He tugged back so she’d land in his lap. If he got his way she’d be spending a lot of time in this very position, preferably bound, while he worked her sweet little body over. After a few minutes of squirming uselessly and calling him an asshole several times she finally settled. “Good girl. Now, let’s talk more about this boyfriend you mentioned earlier.”

Kat glared at him “What boyfriend?” Kat was trying to focus on the conversation, she really was, but she could feel him pressed against her backside. It was distracting to say the least, she hadn’t been wrong, he was big everywhere.

Jack had both her hands held fast in one of his. “The one you mentioned earlier, is there a boyfriend? I know you aren’t married, you aren’t wearing a ring.” Kat bucked forward again to try to get to her feet. He refused to let her move. “Stop it, Kat. If you make me bruise your wrists, I really will give you a spanking.” Jack fought the urge to throw her over his shoulder and take her home. Her pupils were dilated and she was practically panting and it wasn’t from exertion. God help him and his poor dick, she responded beautifully to being restrained. She was going to be fucking perfect. He liked total control in the bedroom and this little Kat, whether she knew it or not, liked to be controlled. Her skirt had flipped up when he’d hauled her into his lap and the heat of her pussy was scorching his cock through a layer of fabric, she was turned on as much as he was by their play.

“You need to let me up. We don’t even know each other. I shouldn’t be sitting in your lap and you shouldn’t be making me.”

“Sweet, Kat, I’m stating my intentions the best way I know how. I want you, and plan to have you in as many ways as I can. You want me too. You are just too stubborn to admit it.”

“You’re a conceited ass. I never said I wanted you.”

“Really? Because these tight little nipples and that hot little pussy rubbing against me tells me differently.”

Kat was mortified at her body’s reaction to this big lug. Could he really feel how hot and wet she was? Her body had kicked into overdrive from the second he’d opened his car door. She started to struggle again and this time he allowed her to get up. Just in time, she heard Ruth shuffling down the hall from the kitchen. Glaring at Jack, she straightened her shirt and turned to face Ruth.

“Kat, don’t make this nice young man think I raised a heathen. Walk him to the door, dear.”

How Ruth managed to make her feel like a kid as old as she was, she’d never figure it out. “Yes, ma'am. Mr. Kincaid, I’ll walk you out. I’m sure I’m ready… err, that is, I’m sure you’re ready to get home.”

Jack stood and grasped Ruth’s hand and gave it a warm squeeze. “Ms. Ruth, it was a pleasure to meet you, even if we had to do it in the wee hours of the morning. I look forward to sampling your mimosas tomorrow at brunch. A date with two beautiful women is something I could never turn down.”

Kat snorted, she just bet he couldn’t turn down anything with two women. Let him come to brunch she was going to be long gone. Whatever game he was playing she was bowing out. The man reeked of money. Men with money only wanted one thing from women without it and she wasn’t falling for it. He could go find a sweet little Southern fried lay somewhere else. Kat didn’t realize she was tapping her foot impatiently until Jack glanced down at the offending appendage.

Stopping immediately, she started walking toward the entryway, hoping against hope he’d get the message and follow. “She’s a delightful woman, Kat.” Kat stiffened at the statement, uttered much too close to her sensitive ear.

“She is, and she won’t be angry if you don’t show for the brunch. I’ll make a great excuse for you.” Kat stifled a very girly squeal as she felt his arm wrap around her waist and pull her into his front. Heart pounding a mile a minute, she swore she felt moisture leak from her slit when he bent and nipped hard at her tender lobe. She literally felt her pussy throb like a drum beat. What the hell was wrong with her? It hadn’t been that long since she’d had sex, had it? Well if her vibrator counted, she’d had a satisfactory interlude of the mechanical means at least once this year. Wait… maybe that had been 2012. Shit. She should have bashed his skull in and screamed bloody murder by now. Hell, he’d practically forced her to sit on his lap and now he was biting her.

“I wouldn’t dream of canceling our date.”

“It is not a date.” She hissed furiously. She felt his chuckle roll through him. She also felt the iron hard erection pressing into her lower back.

“Tell yourself that if you like, Katherine.”

Kat tried not to react to him growling her full name in that husky voice, she really, really tried. But knew she failed when she felt him tense and the one hand not holding her in place rubbed softly over her already hard nipples. She swore he growled… “You liked that. I felt you shiver, Katherine, mine. If we were alone I’d make you strip and show me how wet you are.”

Kat moaned low, then realized what she’d done and clamped a hand over her mouth. Ruth was a room away for God’s sake. “Stop saying those things to me. You don’t know me.”

Before she could register his intent, Jack had opened the front door and hauled her outside. The next thing she knew he had one hand buried in her hair to hold her still and the other making its way up her skirt. Kat tried to slap his hand away, but he just tightened his grip until she hissed at the sting. “If you aren’t wet I’ll walk away now,” he said, looking at her intently as
he worked two fingers under her panties.

“This is insane. I don’t do things like this,” Kat whimpered in denial as his fingers brushed against her sex. She knew she was drenched in her own juices. When those two fingers pumped into her, bumping her engorged clit she lost it.

Jack thought his cock was going to explode when he felt just how wet and turned on his little Kat was. He couldn’t help giving her the relief her little body needed and pumped once, twice into her needy channel. Watching her throw her head back and take her pleasure was the stuff of dreams. She was beautiful… and loud. Yum, a screamer… even better. Pulling his hand from her panties he brought the slick digits to his mouth and sucked them dry. Nectar.

Kat stood there shaking through her orgasm, watching him lick his fingers clean brought another tiny release she tried to hide. He so didn’t need his ego to get any bigger. She saw his eyes narrow in warning before the hand wound through her hair tightened. “Don’t hide from me, Katherine. I want to see and feel every little thing you have to give.”

Kat was relieved she didn’t slump down the wall when he released his hold on her. “See you tomorrow, little Kat,” he called over his shoulder. “Don’t run from me, you won’t like the consequences.”

Kat didn’t move until his tail lights were out of sight. Then she groaned and dropped her head back against the siding. Did she really just let a total stranger stick his hand into her panties and make her come. “Oh my God, I’m a slut.”

“Dear heart, you’ve just finally met the one for you. I did a reading on you this morning and it foretold his coming, but not yours.” Ruth cackled delightedly through the screen door.

Kat let her head thunk back again, great just great.

  * * * *

The door to the employee lounge opened and Chase, the shift bartender, poked his head in. “You okay, Kat?”

  “I’m fine, why?”

“I’ve been ringing that house phone for five minutes. You didn’t answer.”

Kat looked at the old wall unit sheepishly. She’d been so lost in thought she hadn’t heard a thing. Drat the man. “I’m sorry, Chase, I’m a little distracted today.”

Chase flung the door open only close it quickly and lean against it. “Well, if you think you’re distracted now wait until you get a load of what’s sitting at table 26. I swear, Kat, he’s got to be the most… well… let’s just say if I wasn’t happily committed to Albert, and of course if the guy wasn’t so obviously straight, I’d throw myself at him.”

Kat laughed at the usually unflappable bartender. Chase was madly in love with his live-in lover of five years, Albert. Celebrities had hit on the gorgeous gay bartender and hadn’t even earned a raised brow. Mystery man must be something indeed. “Marla’s probably sorry my break is over,” Kat muttered.

Chase smiled. “Don’t matter, sweetie. She pushed those big ta-tas in his face already. He never even looked, just asked for your section. Wish you’d seen the look on that tramp's face.” Kat smiled at Chase’s description. Marla didn’t have a lot of fans at the bar. Beauty truly was only skin deep in her case. She was hate, ignorance, and contempt wrapped in a beautiful package. The only reason she worked at Seasons was for the more elite clients it attracted. Their little burg in Kentucky was situated on a pristine lake that catered to corporations, big and small, looking to get back to nature. So Seasons saw its fair share of wealthy diners. Sugar daddy hunting was easier if the field was full. “Chase, you are bad.”

He snorted at that. “Watch your back, darling, she’s mean when crossed. Even if you had nothing to do with it.”

“Well, she’s welcome to whoever it is. I’m not in the market for eye candy.”

Chase grabbed her arm and tugged her out of the lounge. “Uh-huh. Don’t be so quick to toss out prime-grade stud. Come on before she goes in for a second attack.”

Kat allowed Chase to lead her down the hall to the main floor of the restaurant. Sure enough, there was Marla, posted up on table 26 where the mystery guy was seated. Kat couldn’t help but jump when Chase yelled in an exaggerated country twang, “Marla, break time!”

“Chase! Greg will kill you if he knows you yelled across the floor.”

Chase shrugged “It’ll be worth the write-up to get that parasite away from him.”

Kat shook her head and looked over to see how Marla took to being called like a pig to its trough. She was stalking angrily across the floor toward Chase, but Kat lost focus as soon as she caught sight of just who was sitting at the table. No way! He couldn’t be here! Chase gave her a gentle shove out of the hallway. Her feet didn’t want to cooperate so Chase gave her another, less gentle shove. “Go!”

Reluctantly Kat made her way to the table. “Hello, Mr. Kincaid. Today’s specials are New York Strip with garlic butter potatoes and a creamy bisque soup served with a garden salad. May I start you off with a sparkling water or fruit tea?” The smile she plastered on her face, she was sure, looked like the travesty it was. Chase was right though, he was even hunkier in the light of day. Damn man.

“I’ll start with you using my first name… for now. Say it, Katherine.”

Kat really tried to hold in the smart ass remark but couldn’t. “Katherine. Funny, that’s my name too. Let me see about getting you a different server. Having two Katherines at one table can get tricky for sure.” Swiveling around, she decided to get Man Eater Marla to take the damn table.

He moved so fast Kat didn’t get to move a step. In the blink of an eye, she was caged by steely arms and a buff body. “You can imagine my disappointment when I drove back to your godmother’s home and you were gone. She said it was very unusual for you. Normally you spend the entire day with her. Charming woman, your godmother. Did you really think I’d give up that easy?”

“I have no clue what you’re talking about, Mr. Kincaid.” Kat hated the breathlessness she heard in her own voice. She felt him lean in and growl. Oh my God, did he really growl? Katherine’s body refused to listen and melted into his hold.

“Say it,” he purred into her ear.

Kat’s body liquefied at that purr.

“Say it.” This time he gave her sensitive lobe a nip.

Kat felt her pussy ripple. “Jack.” She meant it as a reprimand. It came out as a plea.

“Good girl.” Kat found herself leaning into the table as he resumed his seat. “I’ll take a coffee so you can go reassure your friend you’re safe with me.”

His words snapped Kat out of her stupor. She followed his nod to the bar. Chase was looking concerned and halfway to beating the shit out of Jack. She gave an imperceptible nod to say she was fine. Chase reluctantly went back behind the bar. “Changing a flat tire, that I could have changed myself, if you hadn’t been so stubborn, doesn’t entitle you to my time, Mr. Kin…” Kat saw his eyes narrow. “Jack.”

“I made myself perfectly clear last night. I’m attracted to you. You are attracted to me, but for some reason you seem hell bent on ignoring it.”

“For your information, Mr. Jack Kincaid, I’m not in the habit of going out with men I know absolutely nothing about. I’m also not in the habit of allowing strange men to kiss and fondle me, which you seem to find a perfectly reasonable thing to do after knowing me less than an hour. And you are driving me as crazy as you seem to be because for some odd reason I let you!” Kat threw her hands in the air and stomped off toward the bar.

Jack could actually feel the blood pumping through his body. She was exactly what he needed, what he wanted. He was tired of simpering, money-hungry women that ran in his family’s circles. He’d bet his last dollar she wouldn’t care about his money or status. She didn’t have any idea who he was, or his net worth. Every single reaction her sweet little body produced was because she wanted his touch. No matter her continued denial. He watched her storm across the restaurant to the bar for his coffee. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the gold digger who’d greeted him by rubbing her breasts across his chest and arm. He watch
ed her gimlet stare fix on Kat. The look spoke of trouble. Jack watched Kat speaking to the bartender in hushed whispers. She was shaking her head vehemently as the man pointed to a glossy magazine he’d folded and was holding up for Kat’s inspection. Fucking tabloids. It had to be one of the many publications that loved to speculate about the Kincaid family. Shit. His cover was blown. She’d show her true colors now. Turn into a simpering idiot or she’d run. His money was she’d bolt. No sooner had the thought occurred, Kat slipped down the hallway.

Jack was on his feet in a heartbeat. He was going to spank her sweet ass for her, just as soon as he caught her. Might as well begin as you mean to go on, he thought, drawing forth one of his mother’s favorite sayings. He caught sight of her heading through a door marked employees only.

“Look, sugar, I don’t care who you are, you hurt that woman and I’ll beat your ass. Don’t let the fact that I bat for the other team fool you. I can and will make you hurt.”

Jack turned to see the large pissed off bartender bearing down on him. Shit. “I don’t have any plans to harm a hair on her head, I swear. She’s scared and running. Give me ten minutes alone with her.”

Chase looked him over carefully, then broke into a big smile. “She needs to be screwed blue, my friend. Way too uptight and serious, but I meant what I said. Hurt her and I’ll make you pay… big shot or not.” With that last threat Chase turned and walked back to the bar.

Jack grinned, screwed blue indeed. Sounded like a plan. He opened the door, relieved to find her alone. Slipping in quietly, he turned the lock.

Kat’s head swung around. “What are you doing in here?”

“Trying to figure out why you keep running from me.”

“I didn’t run from you.” Jack almost laughed at her petulant expression.

“Really? Because my table is out there.”

Kat surged from her chair. “Really? Then why aren’t you at it now?” she said with a poke to his chest to emphasize each word.
